The Preserve Sporting Club
The Preserve Hunts
2024/25 Season
Among aficionados of high birds, October 1st marks the official start of the British driven pheasant shooting season. This time-honored tradition brings together family and friends to partake in the timeless pursuit of pheasant hunting. Join us for a series of Continental hunts that evoke the elegance of the Edwardian era, widely regarded as the Golden Age of shooting. Together, let's embrace this rich heritage and create unforgettable memories in the field.
October - Driven Hunt
On a driven hunt, hunters are silently placed around a hunting area before a team of beaters – typically with dogs – walks slowly through the area, pushing the game, hoping that it passes the hunters on its way out.
Renowned as New England’s finest upland bird hunting destination, The Preserve Sporting Club offers the best landscapes and presentations for hunting, shooting and the camaraderie of fine dining at day’s end.
This year, we’ll celebrate the shooting season with monthly upland hunts through the fall and winter. These exclusive full-day outings invite you to experience something you’re not soon to forget.
The day begins with a light fare breakfast in the clubhouse, or you can opt to shoot our compact sporting clays to warm up. Orientation starts mid-morning followed by a 500-bird release. Shooters will rotate between our newest hunt course.
Two shooters will man each station with a retriever and handler standing by to assist. Wind and sky make magic as you perfect your leads while pheasants race overhead. Between pegs is a brief and scenic walk filled with conversations of great shots and the ones that got away.
The day is concluded with a lively and exquisitely prepared seasonal game dinner by Double Barrel Steak, followed by a pairing of Scotch and cigars.

- Light breakfast in the Main Lodge or option to shoot compact sporting clays
